Auguste Fortin, VI, MD, MPH

Director of Psychosocial Curriculum for the Yale Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program

Auguste is Director of Psychosocial Curriculum for the Yale Primary Care Internal Medicine Residency Program. He is a Professor of Medicine and Director of Communication Skills Education at Yale School of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Academy on Communication in Healthcare (AACH). Professional interests include doctor-patient communication, the psychosocial aspects of medical care, meaning in medicine, mindfulness and professional burnout prevention. Auguste is the recipient of numerous local, regional and national teaching awards. Besides the practice and teaching of Medicine, Auguste enjoys fatherhood, singing, sailing, flying, and Zen. He lives in New Haven, CT with his wife, Oi, and their daughter, Camille.

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care

Tara Healey is the founder and director of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care’s Mind the Moment mindfulness program. She holds an M.Ed. in Health Education and has over 20 years of experience in organizational development. She is also a longtime practitioner of mindfulness meditation and an advocate for the health benefits associated with its practice. Tara has developed a comprehensive suite of mindfulness courses at Harvard Pilgrim which have been conducted at over 150 organizations, reaching over 10,000 individuals. Additionally, Tara has spoken about mindfulness at numerous events domestic and abroad, and has contributed articles to Mindful Magazine and the Harvard Business Review blog. Tara trains and manages the growing number of instructors qualified to teach the Mind the Moment program,
