Continuing Nursing Education Provider Unit, Boston University School of Medicine is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Needs Statement

School Nurse Leaders need training in emerging trends (i.e., changes in immunization practices/reporting, managing infectious disease outbreaks such as H1N1, and evolving best practices in managing health concerns of school-aged children) and changing guidelines/regulations so that they can revise policies and procedures, train staff, and evaluate their school health programs.


After participating in this activity, learners will be able to:

1. Define the steps to establishing a school re-entry program

2. Describe models of interdisciplinary collaboration between nursing and psychology professionals in the school 

3. Explain the confidentiality parameters established in MGL Chapter 71; Section 97 for the SBIRT process
